  • Playing Dress up

I don't really remembering playing dress up all that much when I was young but Megan and Harper (our neighbor) had a great time Friday night dressing up and coming down to show everyone.  Here are some pictures.

I didn't let Megan show this last one to the boy's, she had to put on a longer shirt.

I accidentally put on two pics of this one and could only make the second one smaller, I couldn't figure out how to get it off.  Oh well, I'm too tired to try and figure it out.  The kids have a full week of school this week, Megan is going to be gone from 8:35 until 4:30 now, sigh, it ought to be interesting.  By the way, no pictures but Tre did run out to meet Megan off the bus and gave her a hug on Friday! WOW, a 14-year-old hugging his younger sister.  Shhh. Don't tell him I told you, he wouldn't be happy with me.

Oh, also, the baby bird is still alive.  I would have a pic but my cell phone isn't sending it to me e-mail, I don't know the problem, it worked last time, it now has feathers and is getting big.

    Have a good week everyone!

  • Hard lesson in life

Megan and the two next door neighbor girls found a birds nest under the old stairs to our treehouse (My husband was tearing them down and putting up a new ladder).  There were three birds, very new born, eyes not open, no feathers, etc.  We tried to prepare these girls for the birds dying as by the time I noticed the girls each were caring one around and trying to find worms for them.  I have heard that birds don't come back to the nest or the babies if humans had touched them.  Well, the two neighbor girls took their birds home to care for and I talked Megan into putting hers back in the nest and put it back up in the treehouse as that would be the only chance it had to live was if by God's grace the mother came back.  Well, this all happened on Sunday.  Today we go look at the bird that we put back (at least one of the neighbor's birds died already), and wouldn't you know it our bird has its eyes open and is growing feathers!  We have scared off a bird twice now when we went out to check so I had an idea that some bird was taking care of it.  Isn't it amazing what God can do!  I hope to get a picture of the bird that is still in the nest in the next couple days if it continues to live.

  • First night in a new home

As much as I did today and as tired as I am I can't sleep, I may have dozed but that is about it. It isn't even the kids keeping me up like I thought, it is just me and then again maybe my two cats. I brought Sassy (the older cat) over and she freaked out, I showed her the litter box first and she got in it and wouldn't leave it until I finally just picked her up and brought her upstairs. She was on my pillow until just a few minutes ago. Princess is just running around meowing at me like she wants something. I just showed her the litter box again and her food and water, what does she want? Sassy is actually checking things out now. I wonder what is on TV this time of night, it is almost 3 a.m. Maybe I can take a nap tomorrow? I want to check on Megan but don't want to rouse her or Tre by making noise on the stairs. Megan and I borrowed Gracia's baby monitor so I could hear her but when she is awake that may not have been such a good idea, she kept talking to me through it. Will I ever get used to this? I am going to go see what is on at 3 a.m., maybe a boring show will put me to sleep.

    Goodnight all.

  • Okay, I have a question for anyone out there listening.  My 6-year-old daughter asked me the other night how she gets boys to like her.  How do you answer that one?  She shouldn't be worried about that at this age, at least I don't want her to be.  I told her she just had to be nice to them and that she couldn't date until she was 18 but at this age she doesn't understand that.  Any other suggestions?  Thanks
